Jazz up your Holiday season with the Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra in concert
On Saturday, December 19th, the hippest big band on the Western Slope takes the Avalon Theatre stage for a night of Christmas classics and holiday tunes. The concert begins at 7:30pm and will feature Scott Betts and Alycia Vince on vocals as well as several instrumental versions of your favorite Christmas songs by the 18 piece big band.
The setlist for the evening is a veritable Holiday mixtape of favorites all arranged and orchestrated to show off that big band sound. Songs will include Glen Miller’s Yuletide Medley, Les Brown’s Nutcracker Suite, Count Basie’s Jingle Bells, Hot Chocolate from the movie Polar Express and other fantastic instrumental arrangements of Hark, The Herald Angels Sing, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, Let It Snow, Feliz Navidad, Winter Wonderland and others.
Betts and Vince will join together on several tunes including the classic Baby, It’s Cold Outside among others and will be featured soloists on songs like The Christmas Waltz, Jingle Bell Rock, Frosty The Snowman, Blue Christmas, There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays and many more.

The Western Colorado Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of Greg Karly, performs the great musical works from all eras and styles of the American jazz tradition. The WCJO is also available for festivals, concerts, weddings, private parties and special events throughout the Western Slope and mountain communities of Colorado, and Eastern Utah.
